Bring people & the planet together
With skills in the social and physical sciences, gain the flexibility needed to solve big problems and to adapt in a changing world. We combine formal classroom instruction with high-quality experience-based learning opportunities that take students into the field and into communities.
Established in 1966, Geography, Environment & Geomatics @Guelph focuses on the interaction of society and environment. Our community includes nineteen full-time faculty who are acclaimed researchers and award-winning teachers, numerous sessional faculty committed to high quality instruction, and seven dedicated staff who provide outstanding administrative and technical support. Our graduate and undergraduate student body are the lifeblood of our Department, and engage in academic and extracurricular activities that connect scholarship, practice and lived experience through teaching and research. Collectively we strive to explore and address major social and environmental issues facing our world, from the local to the global scale. The Department of Geography, Environment and Geomatics values diversity, equity and inclusion, and seeks to cultivate and sustain a working environment that is welcoming, safe and supportive for all.
