Geography Students Win Top Spots at InnovEAT Hackathon
Geography students achieved outstanding success at the InnovEAT Hackathon, hosted by the Arrell Food Institute. Competing with students from across universities, our teams earned first and second place for their innovative, sustainability-focused projects.
1st Place – Team OMAFA (Ummay Huni Sumi and Md (Zion) Bodruddoza) developed AgriAdapt Ontario with OMAFRA, helping farmers take climate-smart action.
2nd Place – The Sharing Place Food Centre Team (Ekow Ashun-Stone and Manjurul Islam) designed a Local Food Systems Dashboard to strengthen community food networks.
Mentorship from Dr. Wanhong Yang and Dr. Sara Edge supported these impressive achievements.
