Student Societies

Undergraduate Societies - Get Involved!

The Department of Geography, Environment & Geomatics is fortunate to have two active undergraduate student societies. These societies are led by students in GEG programs and are open to those pursuing GEG minors or taking GEG courses as electives. They organize events, hold regular meetings, and provide excellent opportunities for students to engage with the department community. Keep an eye out for posters and announcements in the Hutt Building.

The Geography Student Society (GSS)

This group brings you exciting events all year long, from trips and parties to career nights, keeping you connected with faculty and the Guelph community. They even have their own space in the Geography Hutt Building, perfect for meeting friends, studying, and planning events.

The Environmental Governance Society (EGOV)

This group also organizes special events throughout the year, and they also can be found in the Hutt building.
